Shall We Dance? (DVD)

From his seat on a commuter train, a respected but downtrodden Tokyo office worker spies a beautiful woman in the window of a dance studio. Mesmerized, he signs up for ballroom dance instruction at the school, despite the threat of losing face by participating in such an undignified public spectacle. However, he soon discovers that he has a natural aptitude - and a natural love - for dancing, much to the dismay of his perplexed wife and daughter. Japanese Version

"I saw this once and then searched for years for it in the video stores. If you want to feel good and rejoice in others reaching goals in unexpected ways, this is for you. It is easy to follow despite the subtitles and only the very young would not understand this search for happiness and fulfillment.. The Hollywood remake does not compare. This is the one you want!"

"this is one of my favorite films. The recent American version totally pales in comparison. Laugh out loud funny in some places, heart warming in others...a movie I could(and have lol) see again and again."

"I have seen this movie 4 times. I keep looking for it on tv, but haven't seen it anymore. So, I'm buying this DVD so when I want to feel good I can watch it whenever I want. Bravo to all the actors."

"I am not too culturally open, however I saw this movie about 3 years ago and thought it was great. I could easily follow the movie without reading the subtitles. Would recomend this movie to anyone open minded enough to watch a foreign film."
