Handcrafted in Lima, Peru using traditional techniques

Story behind the art: Mr. Velasquez started his job as a carpenter with his father in his own house. He has learned from his father how to work with wood and leather. In the 70's the furniture with carved leather was very famous. In the 80's Mr. Velasquez opened his own small factory and started with the export business, but still kept the leather furniture line. Since starting work with Overstock they have opened a new furniture line. The combination of glass and painting included in the furniture give us a very good result. After a year the factory was to small to attain all orders. So they found a new factory with a better location. Now working with 30 employees, they have their own oven for drying the wood. They are very happy that Overstock gave us the possibility to grow up and give him a better life quality.The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in design and sizing. Subtle variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements may vary slightly.

"I'm really happy with this purchase. It's a beautiful wood work, solid, stilish and elegant. The reverse painted decoration is unique. The cushion is red tomato, exactly the color that I wanted. It's perfect for the entryway. Now I'm looking for a mirror with the same reverse painted style that can combine with the bench, I will be checking overstock.com to see if I can find it. "I like this bench a bunch. The cushion is definitely red and not orange like the picture. There was one scuffed place on the front left side which I was not completely happy about, but it is tolerable. Otherwise, nice bench, looks good in front of my bedroom furniture. "I received this bench a bit damaged in the corner but not noticeably so I decided it wasnt worth the trouble of returning it. I agree with the others that the cushion is definitely a true red and not like the picture. Rust would have looked better with my furniture but the red is fine for now. Overall, the bench is beautiful, provides extra seating in my living room and a great place for me to stow the babies toys. I am happy with this purchase!"

"After reading the other reviews, I was a bit worried that that I would recieve this bench dented & chiped or possibly even broken - I've had pleanty of funiture nightmares.I was pleasently surprised to find absolutely NO damage to the bench when I unpacked it. It was surrounded by styrofoam & tightly packed in the box. I either got lucky, or the manufacturer heeded the complaints.Either way, its a nice looking piece of furniture & fits perfectly in my small foyer. The colors are great."

"I saw this on Overstock last year, but by the time I got around to ordering it there were none left. I was so excited to see it back on the site so I order it quickly. I was looking for a bench for the bottom of the staircase next to the my front door. This one matched my home decor perfectly. I love it! It has execellent craftmanship and no assembly required. Although when you look at it head-on, it kinda looks like the left leg is slightly crooked but that's okay, it doesn't take away from the look of the piece. I agree with others that the cushion cover is red, but that was a pleasant surprise for me since I was expecting orange. The red goes even better with my decor."

"I was looking for a bench for my front hall, and this one fit perfectly into the space, and into the decor. "I agree with everyone else. This piece is perfect in my foyer. The workmanship is much higher than I was expecting and it arrived in perfect shape. The color is a true red, not orange. The doors work well and the painted glass is unique and not tacky looking like some 'handmade' items can be. The wood is dark and high quality. I purchased one of the leather woven rugs for the foyer as well and the two together are stunning and chic."

"This bench is a perfect piece for your foyer. I love the warm red of the cushion and the red on the painted glass doors. There was no assembly required with this bench so it was an instant hit. There is a noticeable nick on one side which I attribute to the delivery process. I paid A LOT extra to have it delivered fast and I certainly did make it here quickly but I wonder what happened to the kid glove part. The craftsmanship of the bench is still top notch and the material used is very good. Overall I'm very very happy with the bench."

"I first saw this piece in Nov/Dec. I really liked it but by the time I went back to purchase, it was sold out!! I waited and hoped that overstock would get more-but months went by and it was never there. Finally, I got an e-mail that they were back!! I ORDERED WITHIN MINUTES! This piece is so unique. "I bought this bench for my front entry hall, which is not that big, and it looks great. I was a little skeptical when others said theirs arrived with nicks on the corners, but mine arrived well-packaged with no problems. I love this little bench... we keep our shoes in the cupboard, and sit on the bench to put them on. Plus, I love red, so the deep red cushion is perfect. "The bench comes fully assembled which is great. There were some faded spots on the edges of the wood frame, but I went over with a black wax pencil to cover it up. The painted glass is beautifully done. The cushion is Bright RED! It adds a punch of color if that's what you're looking for. I'm using it as a hall bench to store shoes for guest. I'm glad I bought it!"
