Bring a true delight from the Himalayas into your home with this exotic Singing Bowl with Stick & Stand.
Hold the bowl in the palm of your hand, gently rub the wooden handle around the outside rim, and hear its distinctive voice. Singing bowls, also known as meditation bowls, have a history of curative use, too. The sound vibration aids concentration and evokes the Kundalini chakra. For collecting or meditation, a singing bowl brings a calming Buddhist influence.

"I have never owned a singing bowl and never played another one, just heard them on videos and CDs, but I think this has a really pretty sound to it. I had to give it a serious cleaning and sand some rough spots off of the stick, but the sound is very strong and clear and lasts a long time. So overall I love the bowl after some heavy clean up. The stand is worthless, I'll probably throw it away."

"The bowl definitely needs polishing, but cleans up and is very pretty and has a lovely tone. The mallet has a good weight, but the appearance is nothing special and would probably be more attractive if it was varnished. The stand is just plain cheap. It is very thin, bends easily, and the black paint is chipped off in spots. On the flip side, though, it is easy enough to bend back into shape and made to sit level. and looks okay if not examined too closely. That is, you may display the bowl in the stand and from a casual glance it appears to be okay."

"For a modest price, you can purchase a lot of joy. This singing bowl is well made and very beautiful to look at. The stand that comes with it is basic. but adequate. I'm a drummer and bought this bowl after hearing a similar one played and learning about their use. If your bowl appears a little dull, you may be thinking about polishing it, but be aware that as with cymbals, clean brass gives you a brighter timbre, whereas tarnished brass gives you a darker, deeper sound. It's all about what you like to look at and what you like to hear. You really can't help but be fascinated by this little piece of Asian culture."

"I ordered this after seeing and hearing a much larger crystal singing bowl. Due to the small size I expected a much softer sound. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the amazing volume that I could get from it. The tone is nice and deeper than expected. The stand is necessary to make the bowl stand out on the cabinet it's on, mostly since the bowl itself is not very large. Overall, I highly recommend this piece both for its decorative appeal and for the fun value."

"The bowl needed some polishing and the stand was so badly chipped I did not include it in the gift. The saving grace of this was the sound of the bowl....... The tone was wonderful and is what saved the bowl from being returned."

"This was the perfect gift for my wife who had been wanting a singing bowl for a while. From the opening of the package to the bowl ringing in hand we knew that this was a quality bowl, not a cheap knock off. Thanks Overstock."

"I received this for Christmas (I specifically asked for this one) and I absolutely love it! Originally I wanted it as a decorative piece for my home but once I started to make it sing, I haven't been able to put it down. The bowl is pretty with a simple etched design on the outside and a more detailed design on the inside. It's small (about 4 inches across) but fits nicely in the palm of my hand and the stand it comes with adds to to overall size of the entire piece. The humming sound it makes is very rich and relaxing. When I play it I get so focused on the bowl that I tune everything else out. My brother also got me the Singing Bowl Handbook but it hadn't arrived in time for Christmas so I haven't seen it yet. For those who don't know how to use the singing bowl, there are plenty of videos demonstrating the technique on video sharing websites."

"This is a nice little bowl. Even though it is small (perhaps about 4 inches across, I was even able to get it to sing using another suede wrapped striker/mallet that I have. The wooden mallet works fine as well, I just prefer the deeper sound of the suede one. I got this as a gift for someone, and it is both decorative and usable."

"This product is elegant; when I tap the bowl with the enclosed stick I hear a beautiful'humm=ring.' But when I attemp to go around the rim with the stick, I cannot elicit 'singing' from the bowl. Perhaps there is a special technique & instructions should have been included."

"I have been looking for a singing bowl for years and unfortunately the ones I found were always very expensive and sounded beautiful, or cheap but sounded yucky. This bowl is not as primitive a style as I would have liked, but the price was good and the reviews claimed the sound was good, so I gave it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised and think it's probably the best singing bowl deal I've seen in the last 10 years."

"The bowl has a very nice tone to it.....and is very pretty. this is the first singing bowl I have ever purchased. I am not sorry I did...as in my initial search found they could be quite pricey.....this was more of what I wanted to spend. When it came I was pleased.....the detailing was more than I expected. I would not hesitate to tell anyone where to shop if they were looking for a singing bowl."

"Just received my bowl and the multiple tones it produces is out of this world and surprisingly loud for its size. Getting it to 'sing' by rubbing its edge is tricky, but once you get it you'll notice a totally different sound than by hitting it on its side. If you're buying it strictly for asthetic purposes you might be disappointed. Mine arrived scratched up and the design on it looks a little sloppy. However if you're using it for meditation its a really great buy."
