Our new line of deluxe non-woven sponges is a unique rayon/polyester blend. The increased material weight helps to provide a more efficient sponge than our standard Avant Gauze® line by reducing the number of sponges required for each procedure. Non-woven material provides increased wicking ability as well as less linting than traditional woven sponges. (Compare to J&J Nu-Gauze.)

"I recently purchased the Medline Deluxe Avant 4x4 sponges and I must say that I was thrilled to get such a wonderful product at an affordable price. I received a case of 2000 sponges for a fraction of the cost it would have been to purchase 1000 sponges of another brand from another company.I do a lot of wound care and the Medline 4x4 sponges are superb! They are very soft to touch, no fraying of material and more importantly they are durable.I will most definitely reorder these sponges.Thank you very much for this opportunity to write and express my view about this product."

"We tried all sorts of wipes with our baby (natural, sensitive, etc.), but they all gave her a rash. Finally, we found these gauze sponges online; using these with a little fresh water has eliminated the rash. I can't see the use of conventional wipes. The chemicals used seem to be bad bad bad for a baby's skin. Thanks to the previous poster on this site for the review. It was quite helpful."

"We just had our first baby and at our hospital they used gauze instead of wipes. This is great because you know there are no chemicals and you use warm water so you don't need a wipe warmer. At home, we have a boiling water dispenser so we squirt a little boiling water into some cold water in a cup and we're ready to go.
While researching, I was confused because the wipes we used at the hospital were Avent NON25444 and were not called "Deluxe." I ended up buying the deluxe posted here and the non-deluxe (NON25444) elsewhere to compare the two. The "Deluxe" sold here is definitely thicker than the gauze we used at the hospital. It is actually nice to have it thicker and it seems like we're now used to it, but I am able to get a case of the non-deluxe gauze cheaper elsewhere.
Overall, I'm happy with the purchase because this case of deluxe gauze has been very helpful."

"Purchased these to clean our new born baby. The hospital used similar type and its better than a babywipe which irritated our baby's skin. Highly recommend for cleaning your baby's bottom, especially new borns - our son is rash free."

"I was told to use these at the hospital, rather than using traditional baby wipes. I guess the baby wipes can cause diaper rash. I would have switched over to regular wipes, but these are actually cheaper if you buy them here at overstock. One box of 2000 lasted 5 months."
