Brass Singing Bowl, Nepal (Case of 2)

This product is priced and sold in a bulk pack of 2.

Add a touch of old world charm to your home with this brass singing bowl from Nepal.

Created by artisans of Nepal, this beautiful singing bowl is a religious and decorative tradition. Hold the brass bowl in the palm of your hand, gently rub the wooden handle around the outside rim, and hear its distinctive sound. Singing bowls, also known as meditation bowls, have a history of curative use. The sound vibration aids concentration and evokes the kundaline chakra. Using mud and sand dye, melted brass is poured into the form to make each bowl. Seven recovered scrap metals make up the brass, so nothing new is taken from the environment during production. All bowls are finished by a laborious hand polishing process called sand casting.

Not all singing bowls are created equal, January 8, 2008
By RonS9 from Long Valley, NJ

"Not all singing bowls are created equal, make sure you try them out. I ordered a set of 2 singing bowls and one sounded like Pavorotti(excuse the spelling) and the other sounded like Bob Dylan.

I would recommend this product to a friend with the above warning.

Overstock quickly resolved my problem to my satisfaction.

Awesome!, December 27, 2007
By Naks from Missouri

"I bought these for my brothers and sister and myself for Christmast this year. My parents are missionaries to Eurasia and Nepal is one of the countries that Dad works in. Everyone loved these and was thrilled to have something to remind us of one of the many places where Dad ministers. Great bowls! They do have flaws in the workmanship but that makes them all the more unique too. They really work great!!!! NOTE: DO NOT use pledge on the wooden stick that comes with them. It makes them so slick that it is really hard to get the bowl to work again."

"I am so pleased with the workmanship and quality of the singing bowls. I used them with my grandchildren ages 14, 8, and 3 years today and they had such a great time. They found them very easy to use and actually said that they felt more relaxed and alert after our session. I would highly reccommend these to all of my friends. I have even ordered another set for my grandchildren for Christmas!"

"These bowls are excellent value. They have a lovely tone, are easy to get a sound from (using the technique for making them "sing"), they look lovely and the craftmanship is good. It would be even better if they came with cushions to set them on, which is traditional, but cushions can be purchased through Nepalese stores."

"I've been to Nepal and have seen these bowls in Buddhist monasteries and I've always wished I had bought one while there. These are o.k- they make a nice sound- but there is no om sign on the bottom- something I really really love and wish to have on them and there is a sort of design that's not so precise or well done on the bottom. Because I have loved these for so long- I decided to keep them. I still wish the picture was more accurate."
