Cuisinart Rice Cooker is the BEST!,
July 3, 2007
By Sochie

"I am completely happy with the Cuisinart Rice Cooker. It is so easy to operate and even easier to clean. The rice comes out fluffy and perfect. The best thing about the rice cooker, is you don't have to babysit the rice as it cooks. This Cuisinart Rice Cooker does the job all by itself, and even lets you know when the rice is ready. I highly recommend this product."

Refurbished Cuisinart Rice Cooker works great!,
September 15, 2007
By BonnyT

"I bought the refurbished stainless steel Cuisinart rice cooker last month for a few reasons: it's smaller than our 12 cup rice cooker making it better for daily use and takes up less space, and that the Cuisinart is stainless steel which matches our appliances; and of course the great price.
I was a little concerned about how the quality of the cooked rice was going to be based on some of the other reviewers' comments because my husband, who is Hawaiian-Japanese and eats plain white rice several times each week, is really picky about his rice. But, I am happy to say that this little cooker works great! He is completely happy with the rice! It doesn't get overcooked or undercooked, even on the bottom. It only just barely gets slightly golden on the very bottom (we use Cal-Rose from California and rinse it "some"...NOT to where the water is clear though as we have to save water being in So. Cal). We also make sure to dry off the bottom of the non-stick pot before placing in the cooker, which is something we always do with any rice cooker.
One thing to note: Being that this cooker is refurbished, one should not expect it to look new, which I did not, which was good because ours looked noticeably used and even has a couple of small dings in the stainless. Aside from those two things, this cooker is something I would definitely recommend to someone who needs a small rice cooker."

A good thing to have at home,

"This little rice cooker looks kind of tiny when you pull it out of the package, but actually cooks enough rice for about 5 big portions...
The stainless steel is nice and sturdy, the square design makes it easy to shove in some corner, and the cooking process is very easy. The nonstick surface works like it should, not even one grain of rice stuck, and best of all no scrubbing. Maybe the only thing that I had trouble with was when the water would bubble over a little... it seemed unpredictable, sometimes it did it and sometimes it didn't... maybe rinsing the rice would take the excess starch that would cause excessive foaming. Anyway, it's nice, it's not TOOOO much money and it makes great rice!"

Rice Cooker with bad recipe,
July 9, 2007

"We've been cooking rice for years in an electric cooker, and the ratio is 1 rice to 2 water. Here comes the Cuisinart cooker with a recipe for cooking that uses far less water. Has to be a misprint, but I tried it their way. PS: there is no way to add water, put the stuff in the microwave, and zap it to goodness. Other than that, the cooker itself is attractive, and when next we venture into rice cooking I'll use my own proportions!"
