"Heat is reasonably even and very controllable, but cools off a little outside of the element, which is a single loop running about 2 inches from the sides of the pan. The heating and cooling cycle, characteristic of any thermostatically controlled appliance, seems to be less pronounced than our old Regal/Amway electric skillet.
There is a very slight convex shape to the cooking surface, but it's not really problematic. Eggs, when broken into the pan will tend to flow to the outside wall (where the heat is lowest). The stainless on the walls is a llittle thin, but seems to be holding up fine. Very good looking and easy to clean. Non-stick surface probably means it has a limited life expectancy on the order of a few years. We love the large cooking area and you will too, even if you don't know it yet. Generally a fine appliance, and my standards are quite high."

"I haven't had an electric frying pan in years. I read the reviews and decided to give this one a try. I am glad I did. Its just right for me. I live alone and I can make an entire breakfast for myself. Fried potatoes, bacon, and eggs all fit nicely and I only have one pan to clean. It heats fast and evenly, washes up in a snap and looks great sitting on the counter or table. Worth every penny and then some!"

"My Farberware fry pan that I got as a wedding present in 1973 finally gave out. I was surprised that you can't find electric fry pans in the stores anymore. Anyway, I ordered this new Cuisinart electric skillet and it is soooo nice! Thank you! I'm truly enjoying it. And what a bargain from Overstock!"

"After being an owner of two Farberware Electric Skillets for over 40 years ( with several controls replaced), the controls are no longer available. I had a hard time choosing a replacement. I didn't want a non stick surface, but this one is very durable. I have used it about 8 times now and am very pleased. It is wonderful for bacon, it actually fits the pan. We used it to fry chicken and all of the chicken fit in. It cooks very evenly too. Get one, you will love it. I have two (for when we have a big croud). My daughter was admiring it recently, while she was here, frying shrimp in it. So, I just had to get her one. She loves it. Your daughter probably would like one too."

"I use this pan whenever I am cooking for more than two of us. I made pancakes in it and fed eight people in a small amount of time. I have also fried porkchops in the pan, and they were delicious. The price was also super good."

"I was shocked to find out the electric skillet I purchased was refurbished goods. I would not have purchsed it if I had known it. It only has a 90 day warranty. I have used it once and the electric control did not work well. I purchased a Cuisinart Electric Skillet. It was not advertised as refurbished. I had already opened it and and thrown out the packing material or I would have returned it for a refund. I will be very careful before I buy anything else from Overstock."
