So far, so good., October 31, 2009

"I received this about 3 weeks ago, and so far I am happy. The attachments are wonderful, I have used the chopper to make pizza dough. Which friends raved about! I have used the whisk to make brownies and cakes with equal success. The main reason I bought this was to blend soups in the pot, and it worked just like it should. It it quite large but not too big. It is comfortable enough to use for several recipes back to back. I would get this in a heart beat and you should to!"

"Received the item several weeks ago and have used it many times. Quite pleased with functionality. Easy to clean and I will use this often to replace my cuisinart which is harder to clean up and therefore less often used. Have not yet found any drawbacks or disappointments."

"I highly recommend this immersion blender. I have only used it about 15 times, so in all fairness I can't comment on its durability, but so far it exceeds my expectations (which are high when it comes to kitchen equipment). The blades are sharp, the motor is powerful, and the attachments are easy to use, exchange, and clean. This is fast becoming my favorite multi-tasker (thanks, Alton) in an already well-stocked kitchen."

"This handy device saved my life this week when I was cooking for a huge party. The immersion blender saved a lumpy batter, the food processor ground the cookies for a crust so fine and even, and the best part was that clean up is so easy! The device is small and portable and works wonderfully! The only tricky thing is switching between the attachments but with some practice, I'm getting the hang of it. Definitely recommend for anyone who hates switching between the blender, the mixer, the food processor and the egg beaters!"

"My blender arrived a few weeks ago and I was pleased that it was exactly as the reviews I had read.
It was like new and in a convenient case that holds the blender, wire whip and motor. I have used the included container for chopping and it does an excellent job. I have also used the blender for a soup and the job was done fast and the power available with the "turbo" button is awesome. I also used the whip and blender to make a loaf of Banana Nut Bread and the results were fantastic plus cleanup was a breeze. I'm looking forward to years of use and highly recommend this product to anyone who wants quality, value and ease of use.

"I love my new immersion blender! This is powerful and sturdy, nice addition to any kitchen, I haven't had it long yet, but have used it for every job since: making mayonnaise - a snap in just seconds and no mess or splatter, whipped cream - instant, a paste for a roast - no big deal in the chopper bowl. Can't say much about durability yet, but it looks sturdy and well built. Did I mention easy? It is a dream - gotta have one!!!!"

"Watched the infomercial on the blender and knew I needed the power wattage and stick extension to blend large stockpots of soup. This is a great bargain, as these are refurbished units. You cannot tell they are refurbished as they seem new! Ordered two, one for me and one as a gift for one who loves to cook. Seems very well constructed. This is a great Overstock buy, heads up!"

"I was very concerned about getting a corded hand-blender, however the performance on the rechargeable types wasn't nearly as awesome as this. Wolfgang did an awesome job and designing this device. The cord is approximately 4 feet long, and the performance is unmatched by anything that i've previously owned. I know its refurbished, but the one i received i couldn't tell the difference. It makes smoothies, using frozen fruit & ice, in about 3-5 minutes at top speed. I hadn't owned it long enough to use it on anything else, but I'm sure it will perform superbly. This is the one you need. Get it NOW!"

"I've only had this blender for a few weeks, but I've already used it for pureeing soups, making pesto and mixing up milkshakes. It's worked well for everything so far. It's a great value because you're getting a hand blender as well as a chopper. I like that the cord is really long, so it will reach the stove. I was worried that it would be cumbersome to clean, but its not! It's really easy to clean. It is a little noisy, but that is probably because it's so powerful. Overall, its an excellent product at an excellent price. I would definitely recommend this to anyone! You will find a lot of uses for it."

"I researched on the Internet a bit before making this purchase. The biggest warning on this type of product that I found was to make sure there was enough power, with a recomendation of a minimum of 200 watts. This one has 500 watts and an assortmant of appreciated accessories. After reading through the reviews here I decided to purchase this one, and I am very glad that I did. I just recieved this a few days ago, but have managed to use all of the different options. The primary purpose of the purchase was to use the blender to handle soups, and it works extremely well for this. The blender stick is longer then the models I looked at in stores, which was fantastic for use in a big stock pot. It handled a large pot of lentil and sausage soup with no difficulty. It was a bit disconcerting at first to have the blender get sucked toward the bottom of the pan, but you adjust very rapidly this. I read on another review to not let it hit the bottom, as it may chew up your pan. It was no problem avoiding the bottom. I also read to make sure you do not break the surface, as it will splatter. Again, I had no difficutly preventing this from happening. I also used it to make butter, and I am very glad that I used the beaker that came with it or it would have been pretty messy. The butter turned out great. Some reviewers have mentioned the heaviness of the product, but I do not find that to be an issue. My 13 year old daughter has used it now to make butter, blend a sauce, used the whisk accessory and all with no difficulty. I used the food processing bowl and was incredibly happy with how well that worked. I minced up onion, celery, and carrot and it had absolutely no difficulty despite piling in a bowl full of baby carrots that were uncut. It also did a good job on ice for a smoothie. Despite it saying it was refurbished on the site, there was no indication that the product was refurbished at all. Everything was wrapped and packaged like it was new, there were no scratches or anything on the product, and all parts and print materials were present. I absolutely think the more powerful motor is important, as I have a long history of burning out mixer motors. This unit also has different speed settings, so if you don't want it to run as fast you can control it. At first I was a little dismayed that you had to hold the power button down to make it work, but then realized once I let my daughter use it that this is an important safefy feature. You adjust quickly to holding the button down. Most of what you will use it for also requires only short periods of blending also This also allows it to be used in pulses, which I use more frequently then having it run steadily. Overall I am confident that this product is made well enough for me to have years of excellent service from it. I highly recommend this! If you do a search on this model on google, you can find a video of WolfGang Puck demonstrating the product. It works as well as when he uses it, as I could replicate what he did on my first attempt. (And I am absolutley a typical mom cook, nothing fancy!) The video is worth a peek!"
