"The Megellan RoadMate 2000 is a great device for those who wish to find an address quickly and easily. The Points of Interest selection (i.e. restaurants, gas stations, etc.) is excellent. However there are limitations that may cause you to think twice about buying this product.
The first and foremost limitation is that the Megellan RoadMate 2000 does NOT allow you to search a destination by entering coordinates. This is a very important to some businesses such as mine (surveyors, engineers, etc.) It also should make any Geocacher cringe!!! This is partially why I bought this product, so I definately lost out. Another limitation is that there is an icon for "Region". When I checked on this icon at the Magellan website I found out the the Megellan RoadMate 2000 does not have this capability, which begs the question, "Why does the product have the icon if it can't be used?.
The good news about the Magellan website is that at least on the occasion I called (a Friday afternoon), the support team was right on the ball. No waits. I first entered a few buttons after calling and figured "Oh, great, I'll never get hold of anyone", but I was wrong. They answered my questions and were quick to help and were very friendly. That in itself might be worth the money! The phone number is listed on the websight."

"I do not know how I sold so many homes and drove around with NO GPS. I use to print directions from Mapquest, wasting paper and Lord forbid they want to see another property someplace else. God had to be with me. BUUUT with this GPS I noticed if a home was built in 2005 to current it does not recognize the street or community, I have to type in a street or highway that is close or runs through the neighborhood. I guess I have to update it. I still like it."

"I like the size and price of this system but there are a few features I wish it had. The Magellan RoadMate does NOT announce names of streets (they are on the GPS though). It does alert you (with a ding) when you are supposed to make a turn. I have found that it's hard not hearing the street name ~ especially in heavy traffic (when it's hard to take your eyes off the road) or at crazy multi-street intersections). If neither of these occur where you live, then this is a great deal. I typically use it when I'm lost in Los Angeles so getting home is my only concern and for that purpose, it's great.
If you want all the bells and whistles, I think you're going to have to spend a little more."

"Great piece of equipment. Easy to use. I love the map plus verbal cues. Re-calculates quickly when I change course. The verbal cue of direction to turn 2 miles and then 1/2 mile prior to the turn is a great help in making sure you're in the appropriate lane early enough to make the turn safely. I also really liked the verbal cue at the intersection as in some areas there are several intersections close together and in heavy traffic you can't keep your eyes on the milage on the car because you need to watch the road. POI (points of interest) is a great feature. Drove around for 6 hours in an unfamiliar area and found requested locations with no problem. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a GPS system."

"I am still trying to get used to using a GPS, and for the price, this one is a good way to get started. I haven't been able to give it a "real" test yet, but I did program a destination on the other side of (small) town. I tried and was basically able to confuse it. It wanted me to go straight down the main thoroughfare, but when I turned off to take a side street that ran the same exact way, the unit kept telling me to either "make a legal u-turn when possible" or other directions to get me back to the main drag. Several times, it advised that it was "recalculating the trip and finally I was already parked at the address I inputted into it and it never caught up to that.
ALSO, IN THE DESCRIPTION OF THE UNIT, OVERSTOCK SHOULD LIST THAT IT COMES WITH EVERYTHING YOU NEED. I bought an ugly, gaudy, useless windshield suction mount separately, because OVERSTOCK offered it and it wasn't listed in the MAGELLAN GPS description"
