"For the people who are thinking about upgrading to Laser, the "Toners" are the cartridges. They are 80 bucks a piece, you need 4. No bueno."

"It is an excellent, top of the line printer - however, it does not copy or scan. This should be stated in it's description for customers to know up front. It was not compatible with my previous software of Windows 98. I purchased a new Dell with XP and my wishes were answered. A wonderful new computer and a very good new printer! I had considered returning this printer, but when I joined it with my new computer I was very satisfied."

"Bought this laser printer as a spare for the home office. It was a really good deal and it makes good crisp copies. Just a heads-up— the cartridges are VERY expensive, and you will need 3 color and 1 black. Next time I buy a laser printer, I would shop the cartridges FIRST and then buy the printer."

"The printer is the same one that was purchased for my worksite. The one at work is wonderful. This one that I purchased for my home is a little less satisfactory. Ease of installation was a real issue. I inserted the driver cd-rom and it exploded in my computer which was a first for me. I spent most of the morning trying to clear the debris from my dvd drive. Then had to download the drivers from the internet to complete the installation. Performance is also lower than I expected. The printed material is good but it has the most annoying squeaking sound every time it starts to print (similiar to the sound battery backups chirp when the power goes off) which has the effect of making me not want to print much. Since I was instrumental in choosing the site and printer for work, this is actually my second time of using the overstock site. The first time was very good in all areas. this time not so good. Based on both experiences I would recommend the product to a friend but with provision of the above information included so they could make an informed decision"

"This cost of the printer was a real value. I didn't know up front, however, that it would take 4 toner cartridges, at an avg. cost of $65 each, to use the thing! Well worth it in the end, however, due to the quality of print! Just be aware of the upfront cost of the cartridges."

"Printer came with no color cartridges including black. We gave it as a gift to my farther in-law who lives 3200 miles from us and can not afford to buy the cartridges and is also very ill. It cost us 350 dollars to buy cartridges and get them to him so he could use his gift. almost 4 times the cost of the actual printer! I have been a customer of Overstock for years and now I will never buy from them again"

"We haven't had it too long and it doesn't come with a cartridge, so we spent $250 for cartridges. Already it's having printing problems where the paper doesn't come out. It was frustrating, but I hope it doesn't happen to often."

"I have always found HP printers to be "work-horses" this is no exception. Great print quality and color. However, it did not come with cartrages, so once you purchase cartrages for the printer, for the amount of money you spend you could have purchased a new printer!!!!!"

"I was thrilled to see the price on this but a bit dubious because it was so cheap so I ordered the insurance too. We have one (same brand) at our office 40 miles away, and I was having to go there to do all of my printing. This one is even faster than the one at work and even more clear, and the color is brighter. It is wonderful. I couldn't recommend it more highly. Needless to say, I am thrilled. I don't write bad reviews, I just don't say anything; And this printer is great!"

"Even though this comes in the retail "white box", you do not get any cartridges. A brand new printer with starter cartridges will currently run you $249.99, so unless you want to spend $350 for this printer + new cartridges, just get the retail box."
