"The ski carrier had all the features that I was looking for: clamps accomodate thick OEM racks, risers instantly tilts up to accomodate snowboard bindings, holds 4 wide snowboards, lock & key included, attractive design, and at a good price). However, when I got the racks, one of the mounts were broken off, most likely the fault of the shippers. But, I think the mounts need to be more beefy (sections of the mounts are on the thin side and can snap off--like during shipment). After mounting the racks, I popped the risers up, added 4 wide snowboards, and tried clamping the bar down. Unfortunately, the rubber cushions were so thick and rigid, I couldn't pull down the clamping bar to seat into the catch, thus, wouldn't close. I kept trying and pulling harder, but felt the riser and mounts were about to break. I could only mount 2 boards side by side at the end If the rubber cusions were less thick or rigid to accomodate the 4 snowboards, and the mounts were beefier, I would have rated the product 5 stars in all categories. These modifications would not be hard or costly to the manufacturer, and I think would make the product superior to much of the ski/snowboard carriers in the market."
