"I love the machine, but had trouble with the electronics on my second use. Something appeared to short out right after I began my workout and even after disassembling it I couldn't get it working. The good news is that I called the company and received fast, courteous assistance. They shipped a new console within a few days and I've had no trouble since. Assembly wasn't difficult, and I even moved this 240 something lb. machine into my house by myself. It has wheels and an area to grip on the bottom of the back feet. Not bad for a 48-year-old female... I also assembled the whole thing alone in about two hours. I definitely could have done it much more quickly with help, but I was anxious to use it. The workout on this machine is great with many challenging levels and options. I was afraid I'd be disappointed after using the one at the local gym, but happily, I like mine better! It's smooth and the dimensions don't cause any pain during or after use. My only complaint is that the console stops my program completely if I have to jump off briefly. If I'm only a couple of seconds, it stays on, but any longer than that and I have to start an entirely new program. I've learned to check the clock before I start in case I'm unaware of how long I've been on it when it shuts off. Otherwise, it's a great piece of machinery and I'd definitely recommend it. "I tried out about 20 different models before settling on the Lifespan EX2. I wanted one in this price range that was of solid construction and quiet. One thing that caught my eye was that the weight (212lbs) of this unit was about 40 lbs more than many similar priced models. I have had it a week and am convinced I made the right choice. It is definitely built stronger than the others I looked at and I believe it will hold up well to the regular use I plan to give it. The 20 inch stride is comfortable and the controls are easy to use. I can definitely give it a high rating."

"After talking with a personal trainer at the gym about elliptical trainers she told me that I should be very careful in findng an elliptical that had narrow spacing between the pedals because if it were too wide it would put stress on my hips. Also, she recommended a longer stride pattern of at least 20". this unit has both of those plus I needed something that was small and would fit into my living room in front of the TV....this does and looks good too with the platinum color. Closer was the price and warranty....great New Years Resolution present to myself!"

"I tried other ellipticals where there was the components in the back and it made the units longer than what would fit in my space...BUT found out from talking to some trainers that I should be looking for one that has less space between the pedals so it does not cause stress on my hips. I bought this unit because of that...I needed something to fit into my home gym along with treadmill and weights BUT was looking for a longer stride length and the EX2 also has the narrow pedals recommended. It is quiet, sturdy and console is easy to use. I would strongly recommend this unit and glad I did a little more research and talked to the trainers! I bought this to compliment my treadmill and offer a variety of cardio exercises"
