"This is a TRUE professional flat iron --- it heats up and gets very hot very fast. I have coarse (asian) sem-wavy hair and it takes me less than 5 mins to straighten my whole head and it last me the whole day or till I wash it out ( I do NOT use any hair spray or mousse, just a heat protectant spray). The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that sometimes I felt that it's a little TOO hot -- since I also use it to "curl" my hair as well and it feels like I have to do it fast or it'll burn my hair -- given that I have never burned my hair yet but it sure feels like it with the heat that is coming out of it. I would definitely recommend this flat iron to a friend."

"This is a super flatiron. Heats FAST and only requires 1 pass to straighten hair. The cord doesn't tangle at all. My daughter and I share it, but I want my own. Maybe I'll go to the pink one this time...all of these flatirons are getting 5 stars and the price IS priceless!"

"I had just purchased the Blue Cortex flat Iron. I am not so pleased with it. I wish I could have gotten something else. Even thought it does not have much ratings, I went by the only rating I saw and trusted it's judgement. MY TURN OFF"S ARE THAT MY STRANDS OF HAIR WOULD GET CAUGHT AND BE PULLED BY THE EDGES OF THE HOT PLATES. ANOTHER THING I DID NOT LIKE WAS THAT WHEN THE FLAT IRON HEATS UP THE CERAMIC PLATES DONT CHANGE COLOR AND IT RELEASES A HORRIBLE SMELL . IT SMELLS LIKE HOT OIL OR GAS. THE POSITIVE FEEDBACK IS THAT I GOT IT SHIPPED TO ME IN 5 DAYS. IT HEATS UP REALLY FAST, AND IT GETS REALLY HOT. I HAVE WAVY HAIR AND IT TOOK ME 12 MIN TO GET IT PIN STREIGHT!!! & I LOVE THE COLOR ITS CUTE! & It;s Pretty DURRABLE. I LOVE THE NON-SLIP GRIPS."

"I was hesitant to buy this flat iron, as there's no reviews out there on it. But it works amazing!! It heats up fast, get's to 410 degrees, and only needs one pass over the hair to straighten the shaft. I'm glad I didn't spend any more $$ on a Chi, or other expensive ones. Now I guess the only test left is to see if it will out-last the warranty."
