"I have cassettes- meditation tapes I still use and enjoy while taking a restful bath. My old portable tape player was on its last legs, as I used it nearly every day for some 18 years. Therefore, I was delighted to find this refurbished Sony model with CD option @ Overstock. It was reasonably priced and I am happy I can continue to use my tapes in this convenient way, all the while not sacrificing quality of sound. Just great!"

"Works great. I wish I could have determined from the pictures that there are few if any knobs for tuning, volume, etc. - it's all push button and took some getting used to. The display is sort of messed up, like half numbers showing or wrong numbers. Not a big deal to me, but for the price, I might could have found a new one (If I had wanted to search stores by foot versus online). But, it's harder to find a boom box anymore, much less one that does tape and cd. I still have some cassettes from back in the day that I listen to regularly. So overall, a good value and good sound, etc. I was just a little disappointed in the push button operation features and display."

"I have enjoyed the great sound and the fact that I can play my cassettes and CDs using the battery powered feature while I'm lying in my hammock reading a book.We live up in the mountains where it is sometimes hard to get a good signal on the AM band, but this radio does a good job when it is turned in the right direction, so I can lie out under the Colorado blue skies and listen to Rush Limbaugh!!!"

The controls are not complicated and easy to use. I was concerned about it being recertified so I added a two-year extended warranty plan just in case.
