Story Behind the Art:
Baluch rugs are tribal hand-woven rugs made in the southern part of Iran by nomadic Baluch tribes. The majority of Baluch rugs are woven in the province Sistan-Baluchistan, which sits on the extreme Southeast boundaries of Iran. A lot of Baluch rugs also come out of Iran's vast province of Khorassan which is just to the north. Colors of Baluch rugs are usually predominantly a rich burgundy with some very dark navy blue and accents of ivory. They frequently have either an overall pattern, or a prayer rug design. Any Baluch Persian rug is one of a kind and has absolutely no duplicates anywhere in the world.
The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in design and sizing. Subtle variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements may vary slightly.

"I collect village rugs This one stood out as very unusual in its grafic pattern did not realize being from Iran had cotton warp and weft which makes for a sturdy rug although this one will be hung I was very pleased with it"
