"I drag it everyday on a hard city surface. The wheels are very sturdy. The straps are securely zipped in so that the won't caught in wheels when not in use. Good value.The handle could be adjusted in two length.The only downside for me is that I'm short but not short enough to be kid size, so the long position is too long, and short (kid) position is too short."

"We'd tried regular back packs and other rolling back packs, but for a middle school girl with no locker and a heavier backpack than her high school brother, we needed something different. The CalPak is just the ticket - it's easy for her to use, easy to get her books and notebooks in and out of, rolls nicely, is sturdy, and is still "cool" looking. It's also lightweight enough so that she can take it on and off the bus and up and down stairs at school easily (well as easily as is possible with it loaded with books!) Two of her friends have now ordered it and two other friends at school already had it. I highly recommend this backpack!"

"This is a great wheeled backpack. One thing to consider is that it has a padded compartment for a LAPTOP. You won't get a laptop wheeled backpack for this price. This is a great deal. Very durable and the wheels are strong. I can fit all my books too. Very happy with this purchase."

"I have purchased two of these backpacks and after 20-30 days of use both of them had holes on the bottom. The seams were falling apart. I have purchased additional warranty as well. When I called Overstock.com I was told, that they will reimburse me for shipping, warranty and the merchandise. Since I was happy with that response, I went and purchased new backpacks from Overstock.com. (More expensive ones too)..... Finally, I received e-mail from them that they will credit my account.... So, I called them... AND, what a different story. NO REIMBURSEMENT ON THE SHIPPING AND NO REIMBURSEMENT ON WARRANTY. I have recommended Overstock.com to so many friends, and they have purchased things from them as well. Now, I will have to tell them about my experience. THEY TELL YOU ONE THING, BUT DO ANOTHER THING."

"Room enough for books, small jacket, and lunchbox. Built with sturdy materials, smooth wheels, stylish. I thought the pull handle locks in 2 positions, mid-way for small kids, and all the way up for adults but it doesn't. I know Jansport rolling backpacks do. Anyone know if I got a defective backpack or this is the design?"

"I purchased the CalPak Element rolling backpack for my 11-year-old son as I didn't think it was good for his back to carry his heavy load of school books every day. The rolling backpack certainly looks cool. My son was very pleased, especially with the cool retracting handle. Unfortunately, after barely two weeks, the handle does not retract all the way down, stopping about 8 inches short and leaving an awkward part of the backpack sticking up. I am very disappointed since I had read some very good reviews of this particular backpack."

"I use this backpack every where I go. It feels as though it would be heavy, but it is not. When I place items in it (such as books, or groceries) it is still light and easy to lift onto the bus. My wife agrees with me that the backpack is light and easy rolling."

"Love this backpack! I bought it for my 9 year old son, it is very well made, great quality. I had to return the other backpack that I bought from Overstock before this one (Cal Pak) because of it's not-so-great handle (it was broke after about 2 weeks) even though my son loved its lighting wheels. This one, the handle is sturdy and the wheels move smoothly and he loves green accent color. Great backpack for him. I am more than satisfied. Worth more than what I paid."

"I bought this ahead of time for this school year-August 2009...so it's been only been 2 months of actual use before the backpack fell apart. When I tried to locate CalPak's customer service online, their website was down, but I managed to find an email. When I finally got a reply with a number to call them, I was informed that I had to pay to ship it to California (I assumed this, and shipping from Florida would be around $20), BUT THEN......they had the audacity to tell me that I would have to include a check for $9.95 to "process the warranty". The whole reason I chose this was because it was supposed to be warranted for 5 years. I'll never waste money on CalPak again."

"The backpack is built very well. It has a lot of room for school supplies. I just knew it would last throughout the school year. But my 7 year old son managed to tear a hole in it. He kept dragging it from the front down the stairs instead of by the wheels. If you have a child who takes care of their things, this backpack will last a long time and I will recommend it. If your child is tough on items, like my son, you may need something a little bit stronger."

"This backpack is perfect for my heavy nursing school books. The only 2 opportunities for the listing is:1. the color was not the same as what I saw online. the Blue is darker.2. to convert the bag to my back, the flap just hangs down and drags on the floor when I put the bag down. I wish there was a way to roll it in or take it off completely.Other than those 2 minor things, it is exactly what I was looking for."

"A great communter bag! The three compartments are great! The large one holds gym shoes and clothes, the middle one lunch and the small one organizes keys, bus pass etc.Very thoughtfully designed:The handle easily telescopes for use, the back pack straps zip into a compartment for a neat appearance and there is a carrying strap. The wheels are very sturdy. I was delighted by the price!"

"Thanks to others who wrote a review on the product, this rolling backpack is awesome. My science books are heavy and this easily fits all text books and lab manuals as well as folders. I was able to sqeeze in my laptop as well. The sturdy wheels are good on many types of terrain even when there is debris on the sidewalk."
