Story Behind the Art
Anu worked as a teacher before turning to her first love, textiles, for a living. She works with her husband to produce beautiful scarves and shawls for many people, including Kandahar. She has worked with many of the same artisans for years, and takes as much care with quality control as she does with design. Anu's daughter is an artist who aspires to design fashion clothing some day. The family lives and works in New Delhi, India

"I like this shawl very much. The print is very pretty and eyecatching. I did expect it to be a little thicker, it does not provide much warmth if covering your back; however, it is perfect as a scarf for a cold weather. You can still wear it as a shawl just dont expect to be very warm :-). Overall it is very good value and quality. Do not hesitate!"

"I'd recommend this to friends, but it's not a super buy. So if you look around the shops, you may actually find comparably priced items near you. It is soft and warm but not overly thick. It will snag easily if proper attention isn't given. Also it isn't exactly square edge to edge. when folded over it was slightly irregular in shape but it hardly will matter when wrapped a couple times your neck this winter."

"I recently purchased this shawl as well as the Paisley Merino Violet/ Teal Cutwork Shawl and I prefer this shawl, which is nearly half the price, to the violet/teal one. The colors and print are both very attractive. Looks great with denim, blue, and white. Very good buy for the price."
