"The Brother LX3125 is Brothers intro to sewing machine and it does everything it shows.Having little experience with sewing I found the bobbin placement and threading a bit of a chore for a beginner . The instructions were a bit vague on the threading processes and hands on teaching would have been a BIG help.All in all it is a very good machine for its purpose as an entry level point,I believe the features on the next tier of Brothers machines would be a big help for beginners, ie. drop in bobbin and auto needle threading."

"I purchased this for my 7 yr old grand daughter to introduce her to sewing as she showed such an interest when I sew. She loved it and it was so easy for her to learn on, she made her first pillow and was so proud. She was able to thread the bobbin and the machine and was able to control the foot control speed with no problems. After my mother (age 73) seen the machine that I had purchased for my grand daughter she wanted one also, so I purchased a second machine and gave it to her and she loved it, she has already made slip covers for her couch. This machine is great for all ages. I highly recommend it for starters and experienced semstresses."

"While this machine seems to work fine, it came to me with a broken needle and for the first several minutes of stitching, was picking up grease and putting it on my fabric. I know the machine was refurbished but it did not come to me in very good condition."

"I bought two of these machines to use when I teach in my studio. They are for participants who either do not own a machine or choose not to travel with theirs. They both work GREAT! The only reason I did not rate them with 5 stars is that they do not have drop in bobbins, and they are not as quiet as my other machines. They are very easy to use to choose the stitch desired and would be an excellent machine for any beginner. Buying a refurb keeps a machine out of the landfill, the green thing to do."

"I have wanted a sewing machine for a while. When I saw how inexpensive this machine was I was excited to purchase it. It works great. The manual is easy to follow therefore the machine was easy to set up. I have used my new sewing machine for embellishing scrapbook pages and they turned out wonderful. My next project is pillows. I am excited to own such a good machine."
