These items are handcrafted in various villages in Central Java. Each village specializes in a particular craft and style. An item can also move between various villages as each specialist puts his or her talents to add value to the raw material and then the product in its particular stage of production. There will be approximately 60 people employed to create your goods. The product is made from various tropical woods depending on the dryness and size needed for the piece itself.
The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in design and sizing. Subtle variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements may vary slightly.

"My Asian Influenced Master Bedroom needed a bench at the end of the bed. I immediately started my search on Overstock and came upon this unique bench. The color, size, and price were perfect and after reading the great reviews I was certain I couldn't go wrong. The bench arrived within a few days and as stated in one of the reviews there is no assembly required. It looks fabulous -- I've received so many compliments and everyone assumes I scoured scads of boutiques to find the piece. It's on carpet now, but once the hard wood floors go in I will have the legs reinforced as they fold open and I'm not sure how sturdy it will be on wood. It's an easy fix! All in all, a great purchase!"

"The bench arrived with a slight damage that my handyman was able to repair when he assembled it. I don't know if I or my husband could have assembled it. Since I had a handyman already around doing other jobs, he did it and found it pretty easy. The legs have hinges that fold down but no locks on the hinges so I am not sure if that will cause safety problems down the road with my elderly mom or with kids. But we love it, everyone loves it and comments on it. Quite unique, very special and its value well worth the cost. We have ours sitting under a covered patio angled in a corner with a huge pot and palm in it. Feels so exotic in that vignette. I wish there were other related pieces. I would buy them in a heartbeat."
