Story Behind the Artisan

Anu worked as a teacher before turning to her first love, textiles, for a living. She likes the freedom of working for herself and the fact that grading papers is a thing of the past. She works with her husband to produce beautiful scarves and shawls for many people, including Kandahar. She has worked with many of the same artisans for years, and takes as much care with quality control as she does with design.

"The picture doesn't do it justice. There are so many great colors in this scarf so it's very versatile. And it's really nice an soft and smooth - not scratchy at all. I would definitely buy another one. It's a bit pricey, but worth it."
