"I read rave reviews on this (and other) websites and decided to buy a set. First, the sound is so-so. Bass is non-existant (you have to use equilizer on your computer if you want to adjust it) but if you connect them to an iPhone which doesn't have an equilizer you get no bass. I have had better headphones when it comes to this. Noise cancelling: well, yes, they will cancel out noise pretty well, partially due to the earcups that fit around ears (that will cancell out about 10% of the sound by itself - passive noise cancelling). When you turn the noise cancelling feature, it cancells out most of the (in my case) pretty loud office white noise from the airconditioning. But you will still hear some white noise (hiss) that the noise cancelling feature generates. Still that hiss is much less than the loud hiss of the air conditioning. But it is there. If you don't want any white noise (hiss) at all - you have to buy Bose. On the other hand these are sold for a fraction of the price you'd pay for Bose so it is not such a bad deal."

"I recently lost my Bose canceling headphones and needed some new headphones for the long 14 hour trip to Sydney from Los Angeles. The skullcandy headphones were almost as good as the Bose headphones I lost. Note that he Bose cost over $300 and these cost about $50!!!! Enough said. You can't go wrong with these headphones, especially at this price. I'm going to be using them soon to fly from Sydney to Hong Kong, knowing that they'll do the job."

"True to their name, they are indeed noise-canceling. The low-end audio boost feature is good, but not always needed--sometime it's a bit TOO bass-heavy. The high end audio is a bit lacking, but with adjustments to the headphones volume combined with the adjustments to the ipod/computer/whatever volume, a balance can be achieved. Overall for the price, however, they can't be beat. And they're comfortable, to boot."

"these headphones sound pretty good. They do a fair job of canceling out outside noise. Reviews from the past are mostly overratted. This is an OK product and does not rate 5 or even 4 stars I give it a 2 or less"

"for the price these headphones are second to none. great noise cancelling, volume control on headset makes it easy to adjust without having to mess with signal source (ipod,mp3 player ect). Unfortunately these headsets have been discontinued by skullcandy so their availability is very limited. Also, the swivel joints at the ends of the headstrap are prone to break and crack so care is needed and the ear pads are prone to crack and disintegrate. Sound quality is awesome, good clear highs and ear throbbing bass."

"Have used these headphones on a couple cross country trips. A huge improvement over my ear buds. I definitely recommend these for those who don't want to spend $200 plus for marginally better sound quality. Only complaint is the sound is a bit muddy."

"These are my first headphones that cover the ears. They do exactly what they advertise and drown out crying and screaming kids in public libraries (I was surprised they worked on screaming kids) and people talking in university libraries. Very comfy and I'm going to buy another pair!"
