This large gemstone globe has been painstakingly assembled by hand using 37 different semi-precious stones from all over the world!
Our globe is 13 inches in diameter, and has been mounted on a beautiful three-legged, polished brass stand. At the bottom of the stand, there is a very precise glass-topped integral brass compass.
Each country is inlaid from a different, individually cut stone that has been polished and set into this exquisite piece of art. The elements of the globe are created out of lapis lazuli, mother-of-pearl, amethyst, African jade, tiger's eye, jasper, turquoise, purple quartz, onyx, unakite, abalone and many other beautifully hued stones. The latitude and longitude lines are very thin ribbons of brass, embedded through the globe.
This is the ultimate gift for any world traveler, map or globe collector, nautical, maritime, boat or sailing aficionado or geography buff!

"This globe is a beautiful piece of art and an incredible value! The only downsides are that the states are not separately shown in the United States of America and I noticed that a few of the smaller countries are not named on the globe (like Aruba). I would not recommend this globe for a school student taking a geography class but I would highly recommend it as a beautiful addition to the home that the whole family can enjoy!"

"This is a beautiful looking globe at a very resonable price. It is made in China. The shipping was quick, it arrived with attachment bolts loose and they had to be tightened. The colors are very nice. As noted in another review it likes to be Hawaii side up and there is no detail in the US map.. It is large and heavy."

"Never in my life have I seen a more beautiful Globe. From the first time my husband and I saw a display of this globe in a Hyatt hotel where we went for dinner, He just had to have one. The clerk told me where they got the globe, and so now I have one for my Husbands 75th birthday. The stones are beautifully cut and set in the Lapis, showing all the Continents, Islands and etc. Each are named, Land divisions separated, cities named etc. The table stand is perfect for a round coffee table. The globe is true to scale, and of course the beautiful blue of the lapis makes it all the better looking, especially when the sun hits it. Our grandchildren will really take advantage of using this globe. The Overstock Co. was a pleasure to work with. The globe was sent out to me in very good condition and in no time at all. I can't wait to give it to him. From the way I was treated, I will enjoy purchasing many more items from this company. P.S. The prices are always good!"

"When I received my globe I was blown away it is absolutely beauiful. It's better than you can possibly imagine. I have recommended it to my friends that have children in school. I got it for myself because when I am studing the Bible I like to be able to see the location on the globe and what location it is close too.
