"I was looking for something that I could operate during poweroutages, etc. after a couple of ice storms last year left us without any outside communication. This fits the bill. The crank system is easy to operate and holds a charge for about 20 minutes. Reception is average although some stations come in better than others. I picked up a few for relatives so they can have them too in case we have any more bad weather this year."

"I got this radio just for an emergency. I just knew it would sound hollow, but what the heck. I would just need it for alerts.
Wrong. Great sound and ease of use. I'm going to buy some for friends.

""Little" is used somewhat in jest, since the radio is actually quite bulky for a battery operated portable (due to it's self-contained crank and battery pack). A solar cell array would also have been nice, but for $11, it's hard to ask for too much. Otherwise from that, selection/sensitivity is about average for AM (for really great AM, add a Terk AM-1000 or Select-A-Tenna to just about any AM radio), and slightly better than expected for FM/WB. Great for the "occasional" blizzard, hurricane, earthquake, [insert natural/man-made disaster here]. ;)"

"I chose this radio primarily because it was smaller than most of the other emergency wind-up radios that I have found (it is also significantly less expensive!). Smaller means easier to store when not needed, and easier to carry when it is needed. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the sound quality is quite good (for news/talk, not music) and that it tunes easily. A good emergency kit would include this radio, a corded telephone, a wind-up flashight, and a deck of cards. I plan on giving away several of these radios to the people I care about.
If I had to find something wrong with it, I would probably wish that it included TV bands and short-wave, but that would really be stretching. It is really quite good as it is.

"I like this item, I bought two of them - one for the house and one for the car. I'm even thinking of ordering more for family to keep in their cars as well. It makes me feel a little safer to have this around in case of an emergency.
I read the other reviews before buying and was worried about the review that said the FM didn't work. But I had nothing to worry about! Maybe that person didn't understand that it's not a regular FM Radio but one station that is only for emergeny news. Anyway, who needs regular radio stations, this product is for EMERGENCY'S!"

"I got this radio originally for outdoor use and for our camping trip...but we were so impressed with the item, I bought another because I figured we could use one in our emergency kit! I love the fact that it can run with and without batteries! I have tried it both ways and it worked equally as well. I wish it came in cutier colors. :) Never the less, another good item at a great value!"

"Weather band did not work (I m just few miles from tower). Not true FM but seems to be amplitude modulation with slope detection which is tedious to fine tune and with mediocre audio. Best thing about this radio is the strap."

"This radio works okay and the internal generator is nifty. However, that does not make up for a small, tinny sound from the speaker. It will serve well as an emergency radio, but I really wouldn't want to listen to music on it for enjoyment.
The service from Overstock, packaging and shipping, was better than expected. I would not hesitate to shop from them again."
