Standing 28 inches tall the piece is modeled after a Ming dynasty style 6 legged display stand. Handcrafted by artisans in Guangdong province in mainland China, the piece employs classic Chinese mortise and tenon floating panel joinery. The six sides of the apron are carved through in geometric design. The piece is topped off with a rich matte walnut finish.
The Story Behind the Product
This factory is located in the Guangdong region of mainland China. The father is the main person in charge and employs many family members. Day to day operations are run by an aunt while the son is being groomed to take over once his father retires - all of this family greatly adds to the quality and productivity of this factory. Over 300 skilled and non-skilled craftsman work together, passing knowledge and craftsmanship from generation to generation. The working conditions of this group are excellent. The factory provides an excellent lunch each day for the staff. Attending strictly to the local and international anti-dumping and fair trade practice laws, Oriental Homes is proud to bring a piece of their culture into your home.

"I needed to find a durable and attractive plant stand for my office. This table does the trick! A little bonsai tree sits atop the table and the design of the stand lends to a restful and "zen" area. The table was packed really well and was delivered when it was supposed to be. "The plant stand is gorgeous. My best friend (who is from Canton, China) says that it is "made to Pre-war Standards." Without having read the description on your web-site, she said "This looks like it was made in a family run factory." She was, of course, right! The table is not large (it is a plant stand, not a table naturally), but it is well made and beautiful. It fits into our living room just perfectly! We are very happy with it."
