This wonderful oriental lamp has been handcrafted by artisans in Guangdong province, mainland China. The lamp body is a Ming dynasty style square porcelain vase, decorated with scenery and Chinese calligraphy. The shade features coppertone satin fabric on a steel frame. A carved wooden lamp base with a dark rosewood finish completes the design. The piece features a UL approved 3-way switch, wiring, and plug.
The Story Behind the Product
This factory is located in the Guangdong region of mainland China. The father is the main person in charge and employs many family members. Day to day operations are run by an aunt while the son is being groomed to take over once his father retires - all of this family greatly adds to the quality and productivity of this factory. Over 300 skilled and non-skilled craftsman work together, passing knowledge and craftsmanship from generation to generation. The working conditions of this group are excellent. The factory provides an excellent lunch each day for the staff. "This lamp is a good size, heavy and attractive. Two things I didn't know when I ordered it are that it is a 3 way which I like, and that it is actually like a navy blue and grey, not the green I was going for. It worked anyway since the room I was doing was Easter blue/green. Also the shade is nice, but it is stark white."

"the order arrived very fast. it arrived even before i had email confirmation that it had shipped! there were no damages so i was greatly relieved. the lamp is very pretty. not sure about the price though...could have been cheaper. from afar it looks like an antique chinese vase because of its color. it is exactly what i had hoped for and wanted."

"These are very nice lamps however the picture is misleading. The picture makes the lamps appear to be a taupe base/black design color and they are actually a taupe base/blue design color. Keep that in mind when ordering. The item description offers no color description so there is only the picture to go on. I wanted others interested in this item to be aware of the actual coloring."
